Greater Cleveland Conference September Athletes Of The Month

The Greater Cleveland Conference has a new program to recognize outstanding monthly performances by our GCC Athletes. Athletic Directors from around the Greater Cleveland Conference will nominate one female and one male student athlete from their school based on their monthly performances and accomplishments.

GCC September Athletes Of The Month

In the month of September, Jordyn had 8 goals and 4 assists. On September 16th, Jordyn had a hat trick in a 4-1 victory over Walsh Jesuit! Next year, Jordyn will continue her athletic career and play at Michigan State University!
On September 19th, Evan finished 11th out of 256 runners at a Pre-Regional meet at Boardman. It was Evan’s second consecutive race running a sub 16:35!
Emma is a great teammate and works well with all team members. On September 30th, in a 2-0 victory over Euclid, Emma had 2 assists in the game!
Chase scored a key goal in the Elyria Cup to help the team win over Elyria Catholic 4-1. Chase has served as an excellent role model for the younger members of the team this year.
Since Joy has taken over as the full time goalkeeper, the goals allowed average for the team has dropped by almost a goal and a half. Joy has made over 35 saves in the month of September.
Kyrin compiled 54 saves in the month of September. He had 10 saves vs. Medina, 10 saves vs. Wickliffe, 11 saves vs. Willoughby South, 13 saves vs. Mentor, and 10 saves vs. Bedford. Kyrin was also chosen and featured on Spectrum News as a Spectrum Scholar Athlete!
In the month of September, Olivia scored 11 goals in 6 games, including 3 game winning goals.
Cole scored 7 goals in the month of September, including a hat trick against Solon and game winning goals against Hudson, Massillon Jackson, and Archbishop Hoban.
In the month of September, Emme averaged a score of 41. She shot a career best 39 twice and shot a 79 at the Medina Invitational. Emme earned All GCC honors this season!
Evan has been a defensive leader for the Cardinals, leading them to a 5-0 conference record this season. He has 36 tackles, 2 quarterback pressures, 6 pass breakups, 1 interception, and 1 fumble through the first 4 games this season.
Leah is a 3 year varsity letter winner and is also captain of her team. Her leadership and example for our young team have been a tremendous asset to the Solon Volleyball program.
Josh has improved each of his 4 years in the Solon Cross Country program! Josh has scored consistently in each event this season. Josh has led by example and encourages all of his teammates.
Shelby has 11 goals and 2 assists in 7 games for the Mustangs. She scored the game winner against Ohio #7 Anthony Wayne and had a goal and the game winning assists against previously state ranked Ashland. On Wednesday, September 16th, Shelby had all 4 goals in a shutout of solid GCC opponent Solon.
Michael won the individual title at the last 2 GCC Golf Tournaments. Michael shot even par 71 at Ellsworth Meadows and an even par 72 at Sweetbriar on the Legacy course. Michael was also named the 2020 GCC MVP for Boys Golf!
