The Greater Cleveland Conference has a new program to recognize outstanding monthly performances by our GCC Athletes. Athletic Directors from the Greater Cleveland Conference will nominate student athletes from their school based on their monthly performances and accomplishments.
Amber: At the OHSAA D1 Region 1 Cross Country Meet Amber finished 21st overall with a time of 19:36.59! She then qualified for the State Championship Meet where she finished 62nd overall with a time of 19:05.28! Santino: At the OHSAA D1 Region 1 Cross Country Meet Santino finished 23rd overall with a time of 16:19.47! He then qualified for the State Championship Meet where he finished 40th overall with a time of 15:49.43!Kassadi: 6th Overall at the Madison District Meet! Marquise: 465 Rushing Yards and 8 TDS against Euclid in Week 8!Braighden finished in 98th Place out of 178 runners at the OHSAA Division I State Championship Meet. He qualified for the state meet by finishing in 27th Place at the Boardman Regional and by helping the team win the District Championship, finishing 11th out of all runners at LCCC. Braighden also earned All-GCC honors at the Greater Cleveland Conference Championship Meet earlier in the month. Alexis finished in 51st Place out of 182 runners at the OHSAA Division I State Championship Meet. She qualified for the state meet by finishing in 23rd Place at the Boardman Regional and by helping the team finish in 3rd Place at the District Meet, finishing 8th out of 136 runners. Alexis also earned All-GCC honors while leading her team to a Greater Cleveland Conference Championship earlier in the month. Andrew finished in 102nd Place out of 178 runners at the OHSAA Division I State Championship Meet. He qualified for the state meet by finishing in 32nd Place at the Boardman Regional and by helping the team win the District Championship, finishing 29th out of all runners at LCCC. Andrew also earned All-GCC honors at the Greater Cleveland Conference Championship Meet earlier in the month.Kayden: For the Month of October 60 kills 0.250 hitting % 10 aces 10 blocks 33 digs 48 serve receptions. Billy: Led the Cardinals to a GCC Championship GCC Champion in 15:55 Led the Cardinals to a District Runner Up Finished 3rd at the District meet in 15:40″Senior Lucy Votruba averaged 6 kills per game and 90% from the service line. Lucy has been the most consistent hitter on our team. She is a great captain and leader for the program. She works hard and pushes her teammates. Lucy exudes confidence, poise, and grace. Lucy leads by actions and the young girls respect her. She is a player that each coach loves to have. Sophomore Ben Guidugli is the starting Mike Linebacker on the Raiders football team and leads the team in October in all tackle categories and is a starter on all special teams. Ben has shown tremendous growth throughout the season and has solidified himself as a key contributor on and off the field. Great job, Ben!Gabbie Keefe: Her ability to shoot with both her right and left foot has made her one of our leading goal scorers. With 5 goals this season, she continues to lead the team with her positivity and hard work ethic. She is a captain both on and off the field to not only her teammates but her classmates as well. In the month of October, Anna hit her 500th career kill. This is an accomplishment that not many players achieve in their high school career. Anna has been playing varsity as an outside hitter since her freshman year. She has been a staple on this team and a true leader. Hannah Jicha has had an amazing Month of October! Hannah won the Milt Place Invitational with a time of 18:12 (:32 in front of the next finisher) she won the Greater Cleveland Conference with an 18:11 (a full minute in front of the next finisher) and last week finished 2nd in the District Championship. Hannah is currently ranked 15th in Division 1. Hanna is also dominating in the classroom. When asked about her classroom performance one teacher said “Hanna is a leader in the classroom, she helps her classmates and is rolling one of the top grades in the class”. Hanna is an honors student taking a full course load of AP, Honors and CCP courses. Not bad for an all-around student-athlete!
