The Greater Cleveland Conference has a new program to recognize outstanding monthly performances by our GCC Athletes. Athletic Directors from the Greater Cleveland Conference will nominate student athletes from their school based on their monthly performances and accomplishments.
Ellie Williams: Month of May Stats .458 batting avg 11 hits 7 singles 4 doubles 6 RBI 6 runs. Zach Callahan: Junior 1B .419 BA .568 OBP 13 Hs 2 2B 8 Rs and 13 RBIsKassadi Thompson: GCC Honorable Mention: GIrls 4×800, Girls 1600 & Girls 3200. Aiden West: All GCC in the Boys 400Audrey scored 15 goals and averaged 5 goals a game during the OHSAA Division I Tournament to help guide Medina to its 6th consecutive Regional Semifinal appearance. She scored 6 goals against Avon in the Regional Quarterfinals and also scored 6 goals against Jackson in the Regional Semifinals. As a sophomore, she was the leading scorer on the team and scored a total of 71 goals. She was also named to the All-GCC Team. Garrett will compete in two events at the OHSAA State Meet in Columbus. At the Division I Port Clinton Regional, he placed 3rd to qualify in the 110 hurdles and was part of the 4×200 relay team that finished in 3rd place. Garrett won two District Crowns at Brunswick in the 300 hurdles and with the 4×200 relay team. He was named All-GCC in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles as he finished in 2nd place at the league meet in both events, and also as part of the 4×200 relay team that won the league title.Ireland Rainey: 8 hits, 4 singles, 1 double, 1 triple and 2 home runs for the month with 4 RBI’s. Hitting .533 for the month. Jake McCartney: Month of May Stats 4 home runs, 12 RBI’s, and hitting .400Hannah Jicha had quite the month. She broke multiple school, league, and personal records in the 800, 1600, 4×400, and 4×800. She finished as the GCC Conference Championship Meet MVP. She also qualified for the state meet by finishing first in regionals in the 1600 and 4×800, second in the 800, and 4th in the 4×400. Murphy Kelley: Hit .405 and made lots of spectacular defensive plays in center field this season!
