Greater Cleveland Conference October Athletes Of The Month

The Greater Cleveland Conference has a new program to recognize outstanding monthly performances by our GCC Athletes. Athletic Directors from around the Greater Cleveland Conference will nominate one female and one male student athlete from their school based off their monthly performances and accomplishments.

Emily finished 2nd overall at Districts and helped her team to a 3rd place finish to advance to Regionals!
Alex was named the 2019 GCC MVP for Boys Golf!
Four-year Varsity Starter – always positive, encourages others, never gives up. Jessica will be attending Ashland University next year to continue her soccer career
Jaheim rushed for over 100 yards in back to back games and rushed for 187 yards in a third game this season!
Jasmine is leading her team in Kills and Blocks. She had solid performances this month against Shaker, Solon, Andrew Osborne, Strongsville, and St Martin Deporres
Elizabeth was named to the Girls Tennis 2019 All-GCC Team! She placed 2nd at 1st singles GCC Tournament. Elizabeth was also the 2019 Sectional Champion and District Qualifier. Elizabeth had an overall record of 25-7 this season.
So far this season Jake has had 9 Shutouts and has helped lead his team to a 15-0-1 record.
The Cleveland State commit leads the GCC in digs with 314. Emma was also named to the all tournament team of the Northeast Ohio Power Volleyball tournament. Emma had a career-high of 35 digs vs. Elyria. She has a 98% serving percentage this season.
Nyzier currently has 11 tackles 10 assists and a tackle for loss for the Cardinals. He has 2 interceptions including a pick six vs Elyria and is a leader on the Cardinals defense!
Ryan scored 6 goals and assisted on 4 others in the month of October!
Avery’s defensive stats this year: 20 tackles, 11 solo tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 8 QB pressures, 1 fumble recovery, 2 pass breakups, and 1 defensive touchdown.
#1 player all season on the Solon Girls Golf Team! Catherine also helped her team to a OHSAA Sectional Championship with a team score of 328.
Grant is a team leader and is a two-way player at both WR and DB.
Shelby had 3 goals against Brunswick and 3 goals against Shaker Heights. Shelby has 21 goals and 5 assists on the season
Michael has been the best golfer for the Mustangs this season. Most recently Michael shot a 72 at districts and won on the 2nd playoff hole to advance to State. Michael also broke a school record this year when he shot a 68. Michael is a fantastic student-Athlete who currently holds a 4.58 GPA on top of playing golf and taking many honors courses
