Greater Cleveland Conference February Athletes Of The Month

The Greater Cleveland Conference has a new program to recognize outstanding monthly performances by our GCC Athletes. Athletic Directors from the Greater Cleveland Conference will nominate student athletes from their school based on their monthly performances and accomplishments.

GCC February Athletes Of The Month

Jordan qualified for the OHSAA State Meet in the 100 Backstroke and she was also a part of the 200 IM relay team that qualified! Jordan is also a Captain on the swim team.
In the month of February, Jordan helped lead the Blue Devils to a 3 game win streak with wins over North Royalton, Medina, and Euclid. He had game-high scores of 200, 285, and 254. Jordan was also named the GCC Bowler of the year!
Alexis was the OATCCC State Indoor Champion in the 400m dash, 55.97s, and the 200m dash 24.65s. She currently ranks in the top 25 in the country in those events. Alexis recently signed to continue her track career at The University of Texas-Arlington!
Kyle was the leading bowler for the Panthers this season. In his first match he bowled a 300 perfect game. Kyle was named to the ALL GCC conference team after his great season which saw him advance to the District tournament after finishing 4th overall at sectionals!
Colleen earned Co-Gymnast of the Year honors in the Greater Cleveland Conference. She also earned All-GCC honors for her performances on the Uneven Parallel Bars and the Balance Beam. Colleen helped her team qualify for the OHSAA State Tournament for the 3rd consecutive year and she will also be competing on the Vault during the individual competition!
Zach placed in the top six of four events at the Bowling Green Division I District. He qualified for the State Tournament with a 2nd place finish in the 200 yard Individual Medley. Zach also placed 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke, placed 5th in the 200 Medley Relay, and 6th in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
Emma finished 2nd overall at the Rootstown Sectional Preview tournament and won the Brush Arc Invitational with a 711 series. In the GCC tournament, she bowled a 600 series and had a 191 average for the month. She was also named GCC Bowler of the year!
Sean is averaging 14.5 points per game, 9.6 rebounds per game, 1.7 blocks per game, 1.3 steals per game, and 5.4 assists per game to lead the Cardinals! He is a captain for the Cardinals.
Janae continued to improve during her career as a Senior Captain on the Comets Bowling Team. She was our lone district qualifier this past season for the Comets!
Christo is a 4-year letterman and captain of the Comets Hockey team. This past season he recorded his 100th Career point!
Gianna finished 7th in the state on bars with a 9.15 and earned all-state honors. Qualified to the district meet in the all-around and on bars. Current GCC conference champion on floor and member of the GCC All-Conference team!
