GCC August Athletes Of The Month

The Greater Cleveland Conference has a new program to recognize outstanding monthly performances by our GCC Athletes. Athletic Directors from the Greater Cleveland Conference will nominate student athletes from their school based on their monthly performances and accomplishments.

Sara: Is averaging 4.4 kills a match and is hitting an insane and unheard-of .430! Eli: 32 saves in the month of August and also posted 5 shutouts!
Marquise: Through the first 3 weeks Marquise has 72 carries for 766 yards and 10 TD’s. He also has 14 solo tackles, 5 assists, 2 interceptions and 1 defensive TD! Kaya: 14 goals this season #5 in District for Goals
Jameecia is co-captain of the Varsity team, she always has a positive attitude and is picking up her teammates. As the libero, Jameecia had 22 digs in their last game and is leading the team with 12.4 digs per game. She has only committed 3 serve receive errors in 19.5 serve receive attempts. Camren West has been a defensive wall in his first season as starting goalie. Through the first five games of the season, Camren averaged 21 saves a game. In his top two games in August he had 24 saves against Benedictine and Akron North.
Megan has compiled a record of 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the GCC at 1st Singles. In the last two weeks she has won 36 of 38 games played. She has only dropped two games in Greater Cleveland Conference play this season. Kyler has helped the Bees to a 7-0-0 record on the season. He has 6 goals and 2 assists in the first 7 games. He had a hat trick in a win over Shaker Heights and scored the game-winning goal with 2:27 left against Western Reserve Academy (#1 ranked team in Division III).
Jill has been huge the past 2 games shutting out undefeated Twinsburg and holding undefeated and state ranked Strongsville to only 1 goal! Evan has been a leader on and off the field. One week ago he had 5 goals and 3 assists in one week.
Ella: So far this season, Ella has led the team in a number of serving and defensive stats. She averages 11.8 serves a game, 1.8 aces a game, 6.4 digs a game, and a 2.16 serve receive rating. She has been a crucial asset in the team’s success on defense. Dean: In the month of August, Dean has excelled on the golf course. He has averaged 73.11. His low round was in the GCC tournament #1 at Grey Hawk with a 3 under par 69. He followed that up with a GCC tournament second place finish with a 73. In all for the month, Dean played in 9 tournaments His scores ranged from 69 to 78. He has 2 first place individual honors, 3 2nd place, a third and a fourth.
