GCC MARCH ATHLETES OF THE MONTH

The Greater Cleveland Conference has a new program to recognize outstanding monthly performances by our GCC Athletes. Athletic Directors from the Greater Cleveland Conference will nominate student athletes from their school based on their monthly performances and accomplishments.

Ellie: • .417 BA • .533 OB • 10 hits • 6 singles • 3 doubles • 1 triple • 14 rbi • 6 runs scored • 5 walks Liam: 29 goals, 16 assists (45 points) in 9 games. Leads the team in all scoring categories as a freshmen!
Eve finished in 1st place in the 200 m and 400 m at the Avon Lake Invitational meet. She was also named the MVP of the New Weingart Invitational after finishing in 2nd place in the 100 m, 1st place in the 200 m, and 1st place in the 400 m. Lamonte: At the Avon Lake Invitational he finished 4th in the 100 m and 1st in the 200 m. And he finished in 1st in the 100 m and 200 m at the Ned Weingart Invitational. Lamonte was a big part of helping the boys team to top 10 finish at both meets.
Ryann: Through 5 games played, Ryann has 10 hits on the season and is batting .667. She has 7 RBIs and 8 runs scored with no strikeouts on the season in 19 total plate appearances. Jackson has competed in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m, as well as long jump and pole vault, and he has scored points in every event. His effort of 22-11 in the long jump is currently #1 in Ohio, and is the current school record!
Lexi: In the Cards 1st 3 meets she was the top point scorer competing in the 300 hurdles, discus, and 4×100 and 4×400 relays! Dominic set personal records in the 110 Hurdles 15.89 and the 300 hurdles 43.02 leading the Cards at the Bill Dodd Invitational, a dual meet vs Euclid and the Glenoak Elite meet.
Sophie is a team captain on the Softball team and is a model of leadership for the entire program. She stands out for her defensive play at 1B, her scholarship, and her organizational efforts on the team. She constantly goes above and beyond to help players arrange transportation, set up practices, and communicate with the team. Will is a tremendous ambassador for Shaker Heights. He is a team captain for the Baseball team this Spring, with an early batting average of .400 and multiple extra base hits early in the season.
Rahul is tied for the team lead with 2 victories to start the 2024 season. In the season opener at NDCL, Rahul clinched a three set victory at first singles. He then paired up with classmate Jake Watts for a doubles win over St. Eds Murphy is starting for the Varsity Strongsville Baseball Team as only a sophomore. He is currently leading our team with a .300 batting average and an on-base percentage of .400. In his last 3 game, he has batted .450 with a .500 on-base percentage vs. 2 teams two of the top division 1 teams in the state (3rd and 10th rank). He has been stellar on the defense and has lead by example. He is also a straight A student in the classroom and a great representation of what our program represents.
