GCC APRIL ATHLETES OF THE MONTH

The Greater Cleveland Conference has a new program to recognize outstanding monthly performances by our GCC Athletes. Athletic Directors from the Greater Cleveland Conference will nominate student athletes from their school based on their monthly performances and accomplishments.

 

Amber: Has been a consistent runner for the blue devils all season in the 3200 and 4×800! At the Amherst Comet Relays, Amber finished in 1st place in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:19.43! Brady: RHP 3 Starts 17.2 IP 3 Ws 0 Ls 21 Ks 7 BB 1.585 ERA!
Offense: .519 B avg .617 OBA 47 PA 37 AB 19 H 14 R 13 RBI 9BB 3 Ks Pitching: 24 IP 26 Ks 6 ER 1.75 ERA Defense (1B / P) .971 Fielding % 2 Err / 68 chances
Tyla has been a major part of our offense this season. She leads the team with a .472 batting average. She also leads the team with 13 RBI’s, getting 3 RBI’s each against St Martin de Porres and Maple Heights. Tyla has also been a lockdown third baseman on defense. Gavin is a team leader on offense and defense this season. He has 119 kills, 38 aces, and 28 blocks this season. His 14 kills helped the team get their big win over Berkshire.
Anna currently leads the team with 35 goals and 15 assists. Already this season she has eleven games with 3+ points and three games with 5+ points against some top opponents like Thomas Worthington, Olentangy Liberty, and Jackson. She is also in the top 3 on the team for caused turnovers. Owen had a solid month of April both on the mound and at the plate. He pitched 22.1 innings and finished with a record of 3-1. He struck out 31 batters and had an ERA of 0.94. He had a WHIP of .851 and held opponents to a batting average of .193 against him. Owen also hit .333 with 25 plate appearances and had a .400 on base percentage.
Makenzie Batting average .783 with 18 hits as a slapper with 7 RBIs, 15 runs scored and 0 strike outs! Nick Hit .481 for the month with 1 2b, 2 3b, 9rbi and 10 runs scored. Also went 2-0 on the mound with 14k’s & 1 earned run in 13ip
Eleanor is a standout 4-sport athlete at Shaker Heights. As a current sophomore on the Softball team, Eleanor is batting .731 with 2 HR and 2 triples. Eleanor is an outstanding student-athlete who is involved in several clubs and groups that support student-athlete achievement. She leads by example, is humble, and demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship on and off the field. Jack is a senior co-captain for the Boys Lacrosse team at Shaker Heights HS. Jack leads the team with 15 goals and 5 assists during the Raiders last 4 games and recently scored his 100th career goal during a mid-April game at Kenston. Jack is an outstanding student-athlete and serves as a positive ambassador for Raider Nation on and off the field.
Tori: Consistently leading the team in all areas of the field, including draw controls, goals, assists, caused turnovers and ground balls. She holds 5 school records and still has her senior year to add to those records! She just broke 200 career goals!
